HF FREQUENCY COUNTER |
THIS PRODUCT IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE. |
For the experimenter looking for a high quality, low cost frequency counter to add to his collection of test equipment, S & S Engineering is proud to present our FC4 HF Frequency Counter. |
The FC4 is one of the few counters on the market which will count below 1 MHz reliably. For only $49.95 + Shipping & Handling, you get a glass epoxy, fully silkscreened, MIL quality PCB and all component parts to assemble a 4 1/2 digit, 1 Hz resolution, LCD read-out frequency counter. The additional AD4 Add-On to 8 Digits Kit allows for direct read of all the digits at 1 Hz resolution. It's only $16.95 (you can't buy the parts for this little!). There's no additional shipping charge if you order it at the same time as the FC4 Kit. We provide full technical support, with an engineer available most evenings and weekends (we know that's when you're building). He'll be happy to answer any questions you may have as you proceed, whether it's your first kit or your 100th. The counter is very flexible and can be used in a number of applications. The dimensions of the PCB are 5.2" X 5.4". The display portion is designed to be remoted, so it can be mounted at eye-level, on a front panel, or wherever is most suitable for you. Specifications are excellent. Sensitivity is 50 mV; accuracy is 1 ppm. Using the 7224 Counter chip, gate times for 10 KHz to 10 Hz resolution are less than 1/2 second; for 1 Hz resolution the gate time is 4 seconds (don't forget it's counting to 75 million!). The unit is input protected and counts from 5 Hz to 75 MHz. That'll handle all your audio and HF frequencies. We set up the unit to operate from a 9V battery (a battery clip is included in the kit), but the counter will operate on voltages from +7.5V to +15V. Any power supply which provides the necessary voltage will run the counter. The bottom line is that we haven't compromised the quality to bring you this low-cost counter. You don't get a case, but each application would require something different. Radio Shack sells a suitable, all-metal case for the counter (Model No. RS270-274A, price under $15). You'll have to do some modification on the case, but that's still pretty cheap! The counter comes with metal standoffs included, and it's a good-looking piece of equipment even without the case. |
